Prop Department

Studio Babelsberg’s Prop Department offers over a million props spanning all historical periods. From films to events and corporate celebrations, we deliver authentic, detailed, and emotional designs.

Our extensive collection, available for rent by productions, designers, and private clients, is supported by our skilled team, ready to assist with tailored offers.

Located on the Studio Babelsberg lot, our warehouses cover 10,000 m² with over one million props, organized into three divisions:

  • Lamps and Documents

    The Lamp and Document Warehouse holds fixtures, documents, books, maps, and appliances from all eras. The Prop Department repairs radios, TVs, and lamps and offers inspections.

    The Furniture and Artwork Warehouse spans two halls with furniture, art, carpets, slot machines, and street props. We also resize frames and touch up furniture as needed.

    The Small Prop Warehouse offers a vas selection—from tea sets and clocks to antlers, canes, and historic shop decor. Our repair shop maintains fabrics and handles alterations.

  • Do you also deliver the props to private addresses?

    No, unfortunately not. However, we are happy to provide contact details for reliable courier services.

  • Do you also accept props? Can I hand in props as a private individual

    In general, we are very happy to accept props, especially if the items fit well into our collection. Please send us photos of your props, your phone number, and the pickup location. We will then get in touch with you.

  • I am looking for props that I cannot find on your website. How can I inquire about specific props?

    Please send your inquiry by email to: props@studiobabelsberg.com. Some items are not yet listed in our online catalog. However, we are continuously working on adding missing props to the online catalog.

  • What are your opening hours, and are you also open on weekends?

    Our opening hours are:

    Monday to Thursday: 7:15 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

    The prop warehouse is closed on weekends and on public holidays in the state of Brandenburg.

  • Is it still possible to return props on weekends?

    Yes, but only in exceptional cases. Special arrangements are explained in our General Terms and Conditions, which you can find here.
