Metropolitan Backlot
With Metropolitan Backlot, Studio Babelsberg offers one of Europe’s most extensive and modern backlot sets for feature film, TV, and commercial productions, located on a 3.7-acre (15,000 sqm) backlot immediately adjacent to the sound stages, office spaces and workshops.
Four street settings in different architectural styles with numerous courtyards and interiors are convertible into any city in the world, be it Berlin, New York, London or Paris. With its flexible modular construction, green and blue screen elements as well as digital set extensions the backlot can be modified and customized.
Countless movies, TV series and commercials were already filmed at Metropolitan Backlot, including Babylon Berlin, Mute, Deutschland 86, Berlin Station, A Hidden Life and Matrix Resurrections.
