Production is underway on THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL in Germany, written, directed and produced by Wes Anderson (MOONRISE KINGDOM). THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL is an American Empirical Pictures and Indian Paintbrush production and a co-production of Studio Babelsberg. Wes Anderson, Scott Rudin, Steven M. Rales and Jeremy Dawson are producing. Charlie Woebcken, Christoph Fisser and Henning Molfenter from Studio Babelsberg serve as Executive Producers. Neunzehnte Babelsberg Film, a subsidiary of Studio Babelsberg AG, is the executive production company. Principal photography will take place in Germany, mainly on location in the city of Görlitz and various parts of Saxony. The film will be subsidized by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg in the amount of 450.000 Euro.
The ensemble cast of THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL is slated to include Ralph Fiennes, Adrien Brody, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, Tilda Swinton, Jude Law, F. Murray Abraham, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, Mathieu Amalric and Owen Wilson.
