Drehstart von Steven Spielbergs Agenten-Thriller in Berlin mit Tom Hanks in der Hauptrolle

In Berlin haben die Dreharbeiten zu dem noch unbetitelten Agenten-Thriller des dreifachen Oscar®-Preisträgers Steven Spielberg begonnen, in der Hauptrolle der zweifache Oscar®-Gewinner Tom Hanks (FORREST GUMP, PHILADELPHIA). In der DreamWorks Studios-Produktion, die bereits sechs Wochen in New York gedreht hat, werden zudem Tony®-Award-Gewinner Mark Rylance (JERUSALEM, INTIMACY), die Oscar®-nominierte Amy Ryan (GONE BABY GONE, WIN WIN), der Oscar®-nominierte Alan Alda (THE AVIATOR, M*A*S*H*), Sebastian Koch (UNKNOWN IDENTITY, DAS LEBEN DER ANDEREN) und Burghart Klaußner (DER VORLESER, DAS WEISSE BAND) zu sehen sein. Gefilmt wird bis Anfang Dezember an verschiedenen Drehorten in Berlin und Brandenburg sowie in Breslau, Polen.

Die Filmproduktion wird in Deutschland vom Deutschen Filmförderfonds (DFFF), vom Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg sowie von der MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg unterstützt. Für die Visual Effects der internationalen Koproduktion werden die Spezialisten von Pixomondo Stuttgart mitverantwortlich sein.

Der Film erzählt die wahre Geschichte des Anwalts James Donovan, der sich inmitten des Kalten Krieges in der schier unmöglichen Mission wiederfindet, über die Freilassung eines in Russland gefangengenommenen US-amerikanischen U-2 Piloten zu verhandeln.

20th Century Fox kofinanziert die Produktion mit DreamWorks in Zusammenarbeit mit Participant Media und wird den Agenten-Thriller weltweit in die Kinos bringen. Neben der Regiearbeit produziert Steven Spielberg den Film zusammen mit Marc Platt und Kristie Macosko Krieger. Die ausführenden Produzenten sind Adam Somner und Daniel Lupi.

Studio Babelsberg ist als Koproduzent und ausführende Produktionsfirma für die Umsetzung der Dreharbeiten in Deutschland und in Polen verantwortlich. Die Studio Babelsberg Geschäftsführer Charlie Woebcken, Christoph Fisser und Henning Molfenter sind Koproduzenten des Films. Das Drehbuch stammt von den dreifachen Oscar®-Gewinnern Joel und Ethan Coen sowie von Matt Charman, basierend auf dem Original-Drehbuch von Charman.
Zu Steven Spielbergs Team gehören darüber hinaus der Kameramann und zweifache Oscar®-Preisträger Janusz Kaminski, der Produktionsdesigner und Oscar®-Nominierte Adam Stockhausen, der für den Schnitt verantwortliche dreimalige Oscar®-Gewinner Michael Kahn sowie die Kostümbildnerin Kasia Walicka-Maimone. Der Film wird im Herbst 2015 weltweit in die Kinos kommen.
