Stages 4 - 7: Tonkreuz

Bldg. 2

When it was built in 1929, Germany’s first sound stage, Tonkreuz, set new standards in filmmaking with its revolutionary design.

The first German sound film Melodie des Herzens / Melody of the Heart, starring Willy Fritsch, was shot here.

Today, the historic building houses a high-tech film and television production complex with four stages:

  • lighting rigs
  • automated lighting setup
  • air conditioning
