Tonkreuz

House 2

When it was erected in 1929, Germany’s first sound stage, Tonkreuz, set new standards in filmmaking with its revolutionary design.

Here, Willy Fritsch produced the first German sound film Melodie des Herzens / Melody of the Heart.

Today, the historic building houses a high-tech film and television production complex, outfitted with the latest technology:

  • lighting rigs
  • automated lighting setup
  • air conditioning
  • digital taping equipment (Digital Betacam)
  • satellite news gathering (SNG)
  • digital post production
  • AVID
  • Pro Tools
  • flexible speaker system
