Studio Babelsberg is a strong supporter of the German film industry and offers a first-rate production environment to German film and television producers.
Through applying for funds from reference-subsidy, Babelsberg can co-produce and thus help finance important German productions.
Such reference funds generated from international box-office and festival hits like The Pianist or Sahara were used in the past to support German films, including The Counterfeiters, Eight Miles High!, as well as European productions like Mr. Nobody, Paul Verhoeven's Black Book and German-Danish co-production Flame & Citron.
Today, the world’s oldest large-scale film studio is one of the leading service providers in film and television production.
Aside from offering Europe’s largest studio complex (including 270,000 sqft of stage space and a 4 acres back lot at one convenient location), we offer an internationally renowned production service through Studio Babelsberg Motion Pictures, and first-rate set construction services through Studio Babelsberg Art Department.
Our costume, make-up und props shops each include expansive rental departments, workshops to manufacture individual designs, a library of historic reference material, information on the newest trends and a team of specialists who see your project through production, regardless of scope and complexity. Our Art Department offers a unique set of services, unparalleled in Europe.
Through our extensive services, highest technical standards and the great experience of our team of specialists, we can guarantee an efficient workflow, cost-efficient production and highest quality.
